Apple Cranberry Pie Filling

INGREDIENTS

Pie Crust 1
Apples (I like Granny Smith for Baking) 5
Cranberries 1 Cup
Sugar 1/4 Cup
Cinnamon 1 Tsp
All-Spice 1/4 Tsp
All-Purpose Flour 2 Tbsp
Egg 1 optional
Water (if using the egg) 1 Tbsp

RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 400 deg F and prepare pie crust. Try 'Pie Crust (Classic All Butter)'

Peel, core, and slice the apples.

Rinse the cranberries and pick out any rotten/bad ones. (skip this if using frozen)

Reserve some sugar and combine all ingredients except the egg. Taste for sweetness and add the rest of the sugar to taste. Remember the cranberries will add tartness. Adjust spices to your taste or leave out if you dislike them

Add the egg and water if you prefer a firmer filling or leave out for a wetter filling. Do Not add extra water if you are not using the egg!

Bake in a 400 deg F oven for about 1hr or until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden-brown.
