Directions
Use any decent bread --fresh or stale is fine.
Cut the bottom off if it is tough or overbaked.
Cut the bread into 1/4 in cubes and then chop until the pieces are about the size of orange seeds. Or use a food processor for the same result.
They can now be used as is or toasted in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown. If you're using fresh bread you probably want to toast them.
Do this with your stale bread and keep them around for homemade bread crumbs anytime.
Note:
If you store them in an air tight container they may mold if they are not completely dried out.
