Braised Chinese Stuffed Tofu (NEEDS TESTING)

INGREDIENTS

Firm Tofu 2 Blocks
Ground Chicken 1/2 lb
Wood Ear Mushrooms (soaked in clean water) 3 mushrooms
Ginger Root, cut into small pieces 1 inch
Green Onion, chopped 1 tbsp
Carrot, chopped 1 inch
Salt 1 tsp
Soy Sauce, light 1 tbsp
Soy Sauce, dark 1 tsp
Chicken Broth 1 tsp
Corn Starch 2 tsp
Cooking Oil 1 tsp

Things To Try

* Try adding garlic to filling.
* Also add more water to the sauce next time.
* Season tofu somehow?

Directions

1. Cut the firm tofu into square cubes around 5 cm long.

2. Use a little knife to dig out a small hole in the center.

3. Soak wood ear mushroom. Chop carrots, wood ear mushrooms and spring onions.

4. In a large bowl, mix ground chicken with other stuffing ingredients.

5. Fill in the holes in tofu cubes with chicken stuffing.

6. Prepare a pan and heat up cooking oil. Put the tofu cubes in to fry until the six sides become golden yellow. Firstly cook the side with hole.

7. Add soy sauce, cornstarch and water (1/2 cup) to simmer for 3 minutes.

8. Add chicken broth; mix thoroughly.

9. Serve hot!
