Italian Tomato Sauce (Pomodoro Sauce)

INGREDIENTS

Garlic, Minced 4 cloves
Onion, diced 1 bulb
Italian sausage, mild 1 package
Tomatoes, San Marzano, crushed 1 can
Tomato paste 1 can
Chicken Broth 1 cup
oregano 4 tbsp
Red pepper flakes 1 tbsp
Cooking Oil 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
Pepper 1 tbsp

RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

Directions

1. Dice onions and mince garlic

2. Heat oil and saute onions until glossy

3. Add garlic and sauté for about a minute, stirring constantly to keep from browning

4. Add Italian sausage, and brown, while using spatula to break up into pieces

5. Add tomatoes (with liquid) and tomato paste, stir and bring to a boil

6. Add chicken broth, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes

7. Turn to low and keep simmering while you cook the noodles
